Bahama Mama!

Ahhh, sun, sand, rum…what more could you ask for?!  Brodie and I recently took a week-long trip to the Bahamas for a well deserved vacation. The first thing we did was rent a moped for the week to explore Great Exuma. We ate conch salad, drank rum and coconut water (which we drained from coconuts we gathered from our yard), we snorkeled, sun bathed, watched the sunset and the sunrise, walked along the beach under a dome of bright stars, and all-in-all had a fabulous time!  We were both sad to leave, but have great memories now…and a tan to beat the winter white!

Oregon Coast

Last Christmas my family went to the Oregon coast and spent a lovely time in a house hanging by the fire reading and cooking and watching movies.  Molly's boyfriend, Dan joined us on Christmas Day and the next day on our way home we finally went on a little hike to a lookout and took in the cold beach.  I accidentally dropped my camera in the water while attempting to jump to & from slippery rocks. That's the beauty of a plastic camera - resilient to the end! 

Springtime in Texas

Last March I traveled to Texas to photograph the beautiful wedding of my ex-roommate Blaine and friend Laura.  I brought my holga and made a few personal photos - including some from a historic cemetery I visited on a curvy side road on the way to San Antonio.  I rented a car and leisurely took in the sites on my way back to the airport.  Cannot wait to get back and explore more of the beautiful state!

Cat Revisited

Cat has been a willing model several times for me and I am so grateful for her support and encouragement.  These images are from a shoot we did earlier this year and yet again, the quality of film inspires me.

Winter Wonderland

Here's to another winter of not letting the gray, dark, and short days keep us from our outdoor adventures!  And a special thanks to some of my best/favorite models - I'll keep taking pictures as long as you (Brodie, Molly, Nate, Harlan) keep letting me.

Cuba Otra Vez

Again - I was so thrilled to find another roll of film from Cuba when I visited two summers ago.  Looking through these photos brought me back to that fabulous time I spent in the heat of Havana.  We also traveled a little through the countryside and one day came upon a swarm of crabs that had crawled miles from the ocean and crossed the highway into the hills.  We pulled over and marveled at the oddity and happily a few of my holga photos worked out.

I look forward to visiting the magical country again.
